It doesn't always cost a fortune to get your hands on fashionable designer products. Jan Kaplicky was born in Prague in 1937 and when designing a new set of airline cutlery he was inspired by the legendary Czechoslovakian fighter planes. The Zlin Cutlery is named after these famous planes and features the sweeping smooth lines that remind you of those exciting blue skies. Unfortunately Kaplicky passed away last year, but in tribute Alessi have commissioned these poetic utensils. Made from an affordable thermoplastic resin, the set includes a fork, knife, spoon and teaspoon. Available in blue, yellow or green, the Zlin Cutlery sets are £7.95 from the Design Museum's Online Shop.
